After a fire destroyed the original 129-year-old Immanuel Chapel at Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia, it took several years before VTS was able to rebuild. When work began on what would become the centerpiece of the seminary, Valid Electric did their part to make sure that the chapel would once again stand for the ages. This project included intricate lighting throughout and featured a 32-foot wide, two-tier ring chandelier weighing almost 2,500 pounds. This chandelier is one of the largest on the east coast.

Valid Electric performed a complete renovation of the historic Old Main Hall at George Washington University. This prestigious project renovation for GWU was met by our enthusiastic team to ensure a smooth electrical installation. We performed an extensive electrical renovation including a new 2000A incoming switchboard, panelboards, transformers, lighting, lighting control, and fire alarm. Emergency power was provided by a new 60kw generator located on the roof penthouse of this four-story building. We were involved early on by offering preconstruction services for this project.

Valid Electric has completed a number of projects for universities. When asked to provide preconstruction services for the 30,000 sq ft renovation spread across 2 campus buildings, we were fully prepared to assist. This was a high-profile renovation at the Eric E Hotung International Law Building and Edward Bennett Williams Law Library for Georgetown University. We helped in the early stages to ensure this project would remain in budget and meet the Owners design criteria. Valid Electric was awarded the construction project and provided the upscale renovation that this institution required. The scope included complete lighting, fire alarm, and lighting control system.

Dumbarton Oaks is a Harvard University facility that has multiple functions including a research library, museum that houses a world class collection of Byzantine and Pre-Columbian art, and garden. Valid Electric performed a complete renovation with intricate museum level lighting and lighting control system in renovated areas including the Byzantine Courtyard, Music Room, Mural Hall, and the Study located in the Main House. Additionally, we completed extensive building façade site lighting to showcase the historic building exterior.
